Stacks!!! Nuf Said!!!
Thats fine for some poeple, but I like to make sure you get even flow, and the angle iron assures that the flow is directed evenly, as you can see, the ends are also angled to direct flow up into the stacks. This just seems to work the best for me, I dont mind the little extra work to assure a good product. This is the 26th box I made since doing mine last summer and I have 4 more for sure to make!!
, 1 thing about that tube of yours CASPER, is, did you ever see how close your getting to your drive shaft??, mine comes down right in line with the factory exhuast location so the only bend is up to the box., and Kyle, By the way your truck sounded when you left saturday, I would say you'll be back down soon to upgrade your tranny!!lol, was it me? or was she slippin a little???

Anyone have any thoughts on the flow of this set up v.s full dia tube?
Just wondering, wouldn't it be better to use 4X4 /4X6 or so box tube? Does it matter? I'm just thinking volume wise, the rectangle tube seems to much smaller.

doodah ive got a 90 elbow on the bottom of my box, clears the d/s easily...i wish i'd have gone with a 5x6 box however...oh well, next time...and my distribution is as close to perfect as it gets
shawn how could you tell it was slipping from just hearing it to me it felt like it was shifting fine maybe i am wrong on how to feel for slippage ????

Stacks built like this aren't the best for performance-- they are built for cool factor.
You're not really dealing with a flow conduit, per se.
What you have is a pipe feeding a manifold, and two pipes leaving the manifold. The box acts as a manifold. Thus, the manifold should have the proper volume to accomodate the flow it will see.
To keep the flow of a 4" round pipe, you need at least 3x2 tubing. Keep in mind that the box is flowing out both ends, to the effective flow area is doubled compared to round pipe. So 3x4 would match 4" round normally, but because it's exiting both ends, 3x2 will work (I.D.)
See i was all hell bent on getting the Y-pipe and 4" pipe, but that square tubeing is not that bad looking of a deal....not to mention easier to deal with. You got me thinking.......I got the stacks........and 5" reducers.......HUM.........
you are having a hard time cutting through your cross member? i know i had to have shawn do it because i could not. that or you dont have a cool enough friend to spend 5hrs with making one bad **** exhaust system. thats 2hr work 3hrs bs'in just so finding help will be easier (does not include fabbing up the box just install)
