Stacks Installation Question...

Okay... so after work we get started on the install of my stacks from black cloud. We finally get the stock exhuast off and go to put the 3.5" to 4" adapter on. Its freaking huge compared to the stock exhuast, a little ****** b/c obviously we can't continue any further tonight but I just figured okay no big deal just go get the correct adapter tommorrow. But out of curiosity I decided to measure a section of the stock exhuast... its 2 3/4s" outside to outside, and thats being generous.

What the heck is anything under 3" exhuast doing on a diesel truck? And how am I suppose to get an adapter for this? A 3" to 4" won't work either right? I mean a 1/4" is just too much to clamp down. Am I missing something or what? Any suggestions? I'm going to do some calling around tomorrow but this just seems wierd.

Hmm that does sound weird. When i removed some of my stock exhausting to put on a quick 4" set up, my stock was 3" diameter. Where abouts in the system is the 2 3/4" piping, or is it the whole stock length?

Its the piece thats from the middle of the cab back to the tail-pipe bend. I'm still frustrated over it. I was really looking forward to getting them on tonight...

Okay, so I went out to double check measurements... it is in fact 3" exhaust... shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of a 4" to 3" reducer tommorrow!

Thats what I get for only measuring a bent up piece instead of the exhuast that was still on the truck.
