Spun a bearing
DRAIN YOUR OIL!!! I wish that was the first thing I did when I spun my beearing. Check for flakes and sparklies(for lack of a better term) If you can see a bunch of them in your oil than you definately have spun a bearing. The flakes should be copper due to the rod bearing composition. And if it is a spun bearing you can make out for WAY less than 5 g's. I rebuilt (did all my work besides fire ring groove cutting and head machining) and I got out for under 2500 EASY and thats after buying a crank. I did not replace my head at the time but I did last week and I got a head FROM Cummins (surprise) for under 1,000 bucks.
BTW the less you run your motor at this point the better.
Let me know if you end up rebuilding and Ill give you the number for the best deal on a QUALITY out frame rebuild kit that I found (pistons, rings, all bearings, all gaskets, squirters, and a few things you probably wont need for under 800 dollars)
Good luck and let us know how it turns out
