speedo corection
Re:speedo corection
I have been using the Superlift Tru-speed to correct the speedometer. Works with 4 wheel ABS too.

http://www.superlift.com/speedcal.asp

Got mine from Jannetty Racing.
[/quote]

Does your '99 have 4 wheel anti-lock brakes though? I'm debating whether or not to even attempt to use the new Abbott box I just bought. thanks.

You can replace the speedometer gear (down at the transfer case) to cheaply and accurately correct your speedometer. The dealer should carry the right part but it'll be up to you to calculate the correct gear based on available tire diameter gear ratio combinations available. Post your rear end ratio and we can help you with that.

Thanks for the reply Commando. I have the 3.55's and I just went to 315/75-16's which are, on paper, 34.6'' tall. How is it that no one else has suggested changing this gear? I thought it was only possible on the earlier models. I do have a 2002. Thanks again.

Udaloy
Re:speedo corection
2002's don't have the speedo gear.
We have to do it electronically.

Either by haveing the dealer reflash the PCM with the correct tire size (only up to 265 though) or getting an aftermarket "box" to correct the speedometer.

Either the Superlift Truespeed or the Abbot ERA.

For now, I'm using the GPS for Speedo/odo correction.

phox
