specific smarty questions

does the smarty take out the 2700rpm defuel?

right now im running a comp and i need a lil more lowend fuel to help spool this big adkins "lil 55" but i also need some fuel on the big end, as its not really hitting full boost until the 2300-2500rpm range, so i want something thats gonna fuel up to and possibly past 3000, but i dont need a $1000 redline box fueling me to 4000rpms.

I'm pretty sure the Smarty will remove all defueling if you're using any of the CaTCHer software, i.e. 2-9. Not sure about the 0 and 1 software, half-power and fuel-saver.

It sure seems to. My truck will rev cleanly to 3500rpm, +/- a couple.

Added to a drag box--LOOK OUT!

LOL thanks HOHN...i know a comp box going up for sale...put the money towards a smarty, then save funds for a TST fueling box.

Ditto! Actually, I have not tried it that high.
I punch out of third gear (into OD) at 3,000. That's exciting enough for me!

yea really...and i am one of the few people who can say they have snapped off the 6 speed shifter not once or twice...but THREE times now.

i am going to visiting a friends shop soon and seeing how possible it so build something "like" the BD short throw, but instead of threading a stock handle on it...it will be all one piece with a slightly shorter shifter length and much stronger/beefier shaft for a guy like me who uses a lil too much arm strength when banging gears

TST, Smarty, or both?

Seriously though, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to get the tighter housing from JR?

I seen on annother site that other people that are and were running the same turbo were getting the turbo spooled at 1800 with the 16cm housing and 16-1700 with the 14cm housing. I would say that there is something else going on here.

getblown..how hard was it to fit the hose/elbow that runs to the intercooler onto the turbo? It should fit easily.. I had trouble getting my phat shaft to build boost and that connection was the culprit. Mine didn't go in easily and I thought the clamp would press it in but it didn't, a little emory cloth and a few minutes and it was fitting great. I went from barely hitting 25 psi to maxing out a 50 psi gauge.

Fozsweet, it was an easy connection and i have no problem getting max boost. i can hit and hold 45psi, but it just doesnt spool (ie shoot from about 8psi up to 45psi) until the 2200-2500 range depending on gear

These #'s are with a 14 cm2 turbine housing. The 16 cm2 housing numbers will be lower... but I do not recommend it for an auto tranny
From another thread, but thought I'd throw this in for comparison.
2200-2500 boost is unacceptable in my book. Wait until May then put on the 14cm

at 110 mph at 45psi i am slowly climbing from 1200-1350*, ill get some boost numbers at different speeds tonight.

also Phatboy, if i get a 14cm housing, it will be on before april 29th i wanna have it making efficient power at the spring fling, and if i come up with money for a smarty before then i may just put down 500hp
