Spacer for dually's

The other day I was at the Equipment Superstore in Georgetown, Ohio. A guy had put some odd size tires on his dually. They were huge. In order for them to fit I reached between the wheels and felt around and found a steel spacer. Anyone done this on their rides?

I've never tried it, because it sounds kind of dangerous to me!!
Also, I've never heard of anyone doing it.

Re:Spacer for dually's

I've seen a few trucks mainly fords with them. The trucks that have them probably dont pull much of anything or at least the ones i've seen dont look like it. I would think that if you use your dually to haul that those spacers wouldn't be to safe. You can get them at those off-road shops and tire places.

Everyone we go to the beach with has spacers. Everyone runs 285's so they have too. No one has ever had any problems. I am putting new wheels and tires on next weekend and am using spacers.

Now that is up there : and good looking but no practical use unlike mine. As much as these trucks cost I wouldn't have one unless it was for making money.

heavyg, I would appreciate a Company name and#.
Thanks.
