I've found that bringing the RPMs up to about 1000 RPM and slipping the OFE as necessary eliminates the engagement chatter when stabbing a trailer into a spot. It's certainly not as smooth on engagement as the stock clutch disc, but it doesn't slip like the stocker, either. The OFE doesn't seem to mind this method at all.

Remember, the OFE disk is feramic on the flywheel side ,and organic on the pressure plate side. For the most part, it is still a very smooth engaging clutch. Sometimes it does take a little RPM to make the engagment smooth, compared to a stock organic lined clutch disk.

so i bought a clutch off of ebay and have yet to install it. i ended up getting a 600HP clutch since UPS dicked up the original 400HP clutch. i think it is ceramic.(????) anyone ever run one of these before? my brother said that it will eat my flywheel before it really hurts the clutch considering im not pushing anywhere near 600HP.

ValAirInc HD Clutches. they are out of Fort Worth texas. gave better price than SB so ill try it out. thanks for the help and i hope it doesnt grab too much cuz im not used to brand new clutches.i wont have to worry about a trailer seeing as i wont be able to fit one in the back of my box without removing the box the hard way. and there is no way im going with a flat bed after buying ne w box sides.

I have a OFE in my dads 98 24v. It did great for about 10k miles but now I can slip it in 4th and 5th and 3rd only when pulling. peter said to send it on back so he could take a look at it and fix it. I'm going to send it back but I'm also going to upgrade to the FE. I would rather have the ofe but for what we tow I don't think it will hold up. My dads truck has a 65hp blue chip box on it so it's not very high in the HP range but we tow with it every day at around 20k pounds truck trailer and load trailer is a 35' D/T trailer

Bear in mind that yours is a smaller clutch than the HO uses.
