Just got done the 4" kit (turbo back) with what they call a muffler (not much more than a straight pipe, kinda looks like an old glass pack...Summit Kit)...Quite different then stock, very throaty and the turbo got a good bit louder. Definitely reduced the EGT's though, at WOT I only hit around 1100 (pre), that is almost 200 Deg. cooler than before...just thought I would share for those guys still "on the fence" Happy Holidays all.

 

So, are you saying that sounding like a Bus is a good thing or a bad thing.

my neighbors tell me my truck sounds like the garbage truck I didnt think it was that bad.....

 

w/ the 5" straight pipe, mine sounded like a dump truck... (not a bad thing!!)

w/ the stacks it sounds like a Peterbilt! (not bad either )

It fit surprisingly well, bolted in exactly as described..i wanted a stainless system but my stock exhaust broke and with Christmas coming this was in my budget for now. As for power, I "think" I gained a little (only drove it for about 2-3 miles) but their is a definite reduction in EGT's...a noticeable difference and I liked that.

 

haha ...........when I had my 2nd gen I had a gf who thought my truck sounded like a garbage truck

 

ive been told fed-ex, ups, logging truck & when it a proflo muff a bread truck

I think he's trying to say that people have told him that his truck sounds like those vehicles he listed, and when his muffler was on it sounded like a bread truck.
