Would there be any advantages to have twins on a stock engine to tow with?

How bout with a #10?

 

Nope. Way to much involved for a stock truck. Not to mention that twins do take a decent amount of fuel to spool. Your factory turbo will spool better and cool just as well on a stock truck or even a stock truck with just a #10 plate.

 

I dont know, I guess it depends on what "stock" is? My engine is stock. I tried towing with the single and a 10 plate, couldnt do it. But stock to me is stock engine, not rebuilt. That doesnt count stuff that bolts on the outside, like turbos, injectors, a gsk....etc.

 

heres another stupid question what are you talking about #10 plate? what is the plate for and what does it do?

 

It's a fuel plate for a 12V motor. Adds more fuel just like a chip does on the 24V cummins and the common rails.

And I wouldn't bother installing twins on a virtually stock motor. You will need lots of fuel to spool the twins and you'll almost be worse off than sticking with the stock single turbo. A #10 plate won't be enough either IMO.

Twins would be overkill for a mild fueling mod, but could also lead to a long term condition of empty pockets paying for fueling and supporting mods.

You could start with a boost elbow or manual boost controller for you current turbo.
