Some tire info please

Ok so heres the deal....im needing some new tires to go on my new wheels...the problem im having is figuring out what size, right now i got 235-85's in the rear but ive got a 265-70 in the front....i like the 265 in the rather than a skinny 235....but that route i cant rotate them like they should be,as it is my 235's have like 3/4 in. between them....but the other day i seen a truck with 265 70's all the way around with no spacers and it had the same clearance, but it was a firestone mud tread and i dont need that. so can i run that wide a tire with no problems on a dually?

its due to the differant back spacing in the rims one of my 01s is a dually and my 97 is also but the rims sit farther a part maybe try some 01 rims

Ever seen a 255 85 there are slightly skinnier then the 265 but a lot taller. there are only 2 manufactures I've come across that make them toyo MT's and Bfg MT's. Just another option for you to think about

255-85s seem to be getting really rare. Also, I think those are for 16" rims, not 17".

Toyo also makes A/T's and M55's in a 255/85R16. Just ordered a set of M55's to replace the 285/75R16's I have now. Looking to see if the narrower footprint will make a difference in MPG's. And you're right about it being hard to find many choices out there in that size.

New to the forum, new to diesels, but have been off-roading in 4x4’s for years (3 70’s era F-250’s).. Trying to make my 2002 Sport 4x4 Cummins Diesel looks like a truck, I decided I should remove the highway tires. I still need to tow a trailer on occasion, and take the truck out of town, so I wanted to go with a slightly oversized tire that wouldn’t at first require I lift my truck, not completely change the final drive so that the truck is gutless, and not change the fuel mileage a lot. So, I decided on the Toyo, Open Country 285 75R 16’s.. I plan on having the tires mounted Saturday.. Given that, can anyone help me with a few questions:

What will the tires do to the fuel mileage?
Will I notice much power loss due to the oversized tires – especially when towing my 18 ft flatbed?
Is there a suggested wheel off-set, as I plan on buying wheels a couple months down the road
Will these tires rub without a lift? I was thinking of installing the 1-1/2 load leveling kit in the front.. Ideas? Advice?

Any advice is appreciated..

I've been running 285/75R16's for years on stock alloy wheels and no lift kit and haven't noticed any change in mileage or power from stock tires. They certainly look better on the truck. There will be a slight change in the speedo reading, but only a few mph at highway speed. I have a programmer that allows me to adjust my speedo. I think you'll be happy with the bigger tires.
