SO or HO pump?

I was reading a thread about how much hp the SO and HO VP's can support. I am new to all of this, and not sure about the abbreviations. I think the HO is for high output, right and no idea on SO. They said the SO can support as much as a HRVP(hot rod vp44?) which one do I have?

that was fast. So does that mean I won't need to upgrade to the hrvp?

Yea A SO is short for standard output. HO as you guess is high output. All the 5spd trucks to my knowledge unless someone converted it are SO trucks. There alot of reviews about and talk about the gains of a hrvp on our SO trucks. From what I have gathered if you are close to stock with no electronic boxes you will see some gains in hp running one but if you have A hot unlock box or stacking chips its gonna be close and then once you get on up into the 550 hp range You are back better off with the SO again since It will flow more fuel flat out than a hrvp. To me its a matter of looking at your hp goals and how you want to get there if you go that route or not.

Wow, lofty goals for an all fuel VP-44 truck...you planning to get rid of the VP-44, in favor of a p-pump? If you make it with a VP-44 to 800 on fuel only, let me know your setup.
Good luck,
Alex

I will let everone know the setup if I get there with the vp44, but I have a feeling that it will have to get p pumped.
