From what i understand if your box is a boost fooler, like EZ or Comp unplugging the map will work. As far as the other box's i don't know. But without a boost fooler you will get no power and a CEL.

Right, It fakes the map signal if its a boost fooler, it says 0 boost if unplugged, if it dosent boost fool it gives the truck no signal

no I didn't have to try it. I knew it wouldn't work when I switched from the comp. I have plenty (to much) of smoke before I spool the way it is. I don't see how you could tell the difference either.

So if you unplug the map sensor, your boost gauge will show no boost? Is that correct?

YEah fisrt thing: hook up a fuel pressure gauge.

i put an edge comp on my 98 24v, a good time ago, and it didnt really smoke, a few weeks after, i realized the lift pump didnt even run (0 psi)

you should at least have 8 psi on 5x5 on a wot run

NO your boost gauge is a manual gauge in the intake, and the map is ele. and if you unhook it it don't know the difference

I did the wire tap and it only smokes alittle bit after im rolling about 40 and get on it but nothing much...also i have been blowing the aftercooler rubber boots off where it goes from the turbo down...whats the cause and the fix i'm boosting like 42psi at times when this happens.

Are you running injectors? It could be a little bit of oil on one of the flanges. Put some info on your sig. We'll be able to help more. Didnt you say u were just running a edge juice with attitude? No turbo? If your on a stock turbo your just building heat and loosing power at 42 lbs. Most all the big turbos are starting to run out of efficency right there. I run 45 50 on mine. I went to a HTS Boot, They work really well and stay on , but if you think your just running 42lb with a drag comp wire tapped there something fishy

Here's what we already face in Texas regarding smoke:

Smoking Vehicle Report

Now, if certain individuals keep smoking out the soccer moms in their minivans, it's only going to get worse!

Tailpipe smoke is a result of incomplete fuel combustion, which is usually caused from improper engine operation in both gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles. When a vehicle and its engine are not properly maintained, the likelihood of engine problems and smoke increases.

it says that we'll also recieve a paper on how to "properly maintain our vehicle"
