Smarty Question???

Today my questions were answered. Over the last few weeks I've encountered a few incidents of "Dead Pedal". I removed the old BD Plug n Power (thinking it may be the cause due to age), cleared the codes and all ok for a week.

I recently installed Smarty, Program #7 and did the ABS update for tire size. I love the Smarty. All went good till today I experienced "DP" again a couple of times. Get home checked and we got a 0216. Well I cleared the codes due to probable problem VP and or LP.

The Question,
I plan on taking it to the dealer for warranty. If I set another 0216 and put the truck back to "Stock" configuration and do not clear the codes will the dealer know Smarty was hooked up? I don't know how long it's going to take to reset another 0216 in stock configuration and would like to take in to the dealer before it totally dies. . .

They shouldn't be able to tell if you have had the smarty on there or not. According to Bob it's untraceable.......so you should be good to go!!

It is my understanding that when you return it back to stock there is no way for the dealer to detect that the Smarty was used even if you leave the codes.

Phil, I know your pain, went through the same think. You will want to put the Smarty back to stock setting so the dealer wont know it was ever there. But, this will take the codes with it. If it is a vp and the 0216 code, it will come back and then you can take it in. oh, deppending on how friendly your dealer is, you might not want to tell them you know about the 0216 code. just tell them what is going on. When I told the the code and that I checked it with the key trick, they got made and the blah blah blah for 30 min. that dealer sucked too good luck

Rodram2002, I know how some Dealers an be. I'm glad I went to the extreme of saving my "Void Sticker" off the VP after installing the old BD PnP when the truck was new in 02. Figured I may need it someday.

I reinstalled the V Sticker when I was back to stock waiting for my Smarty to come in a couple of weeks ago.

Now all I need to do is find a friendly dealer like I had when the truck was new (recently relocated). I took it in with a little over 10,000 miles on it and the dealer installed my ATS Triple Lock TC, VB and DD Trans Pan under warranty.
