Smarty math...
Smarty math...
I ordered the Smarty last Friday and it arrived today. So for a little less than a week I've been wondering if it was possible for my truck to run any quicker than it did with the mods I had.
Lets get a little background on the situation....
my truck as of 8:30 tonight was everything you see in my sig plus an Edge EZ, DD3's and a SB Con OFE. my truck as of 8:40 was everything you see in my sig Smartified, DD3's and a SB Con OFE. Now it's time for a little Smarty math.
EZ+DD3's =
Smarty + DD3's =
The Smarty definitely runs a little different than the EZ. The Smarty runs real strong through the entire RPM range(3200+) where as the EZ would start to fade as you approached 2300 and then the infamous defuel at 2700. The Smarty also builds boost faster than the EZ. I've only driven the truck for 15 minutes since the awakening so I'll have more 'results' later. It's pretty sweet to run the truck hard and keep the RPM's above 2500 and not have to worry about defueling. I think one of the keys to maximize the performance of the Smarty will be leaning into the throttle as opposed to mashing the go pedal. Mashing the go pedal just lets the coal roll... rolling into the throttle resulted in some serious acceleration and gear grabbing. Oh yeah, the EZ is in the garage and I think it's seen it's last days under my hood.

The smarty definately makes the truck feel like it has longer legs because the entire rpm range is usable. For contrast you should try a low sw just to see the difference in responsiveness with throttle input. I'm pretty happy with the responsiveness just in fuel saver sw1
