I have one of Dave's trannies with the single disk converter. I dyno'd 299HP and 678TQ and cannot slip the converter. I also tow with a CGVW of just over 17k. The only "problem" I have is when pulling with over about 10 psi boost, the turbo will bark when the tranny goes into overdrive unless I am at WOT. I have since learned to "drive around" that problem by lifting slightly when it shifts.

Kyle, you already know where I stand on this issue from my post on Pavementsucks, but I would have to add, that Daves work after the sale is also superior!, I have had several responses from poeple who have had a tranny from Dave and something was wrong, or the shift points were not right, and dave has went out of his way to make it right. as to even hand deliver a backup tranny a couple hundred miles away to someone who desperitly needed it! I told Dave along time ago, I went with your tranny because you became a friend before the sale, not after!, he is a great guy, and an excellant friend!

A single disk will be great for you.

My $.02 worth.

Last month I went to Iowa and seen Dave and had my 47RE built. I was wanting to get the triple but as I explained what I had planned for the truck and the amount of towing/pulling I do he said that the single would do just fine. Now a business man that is more concerned about making the customer happy as apposed to making money is one helluva good fella.

With Dave's tranny, holy smoke (literally) wow. The 98 will gidde-up&go

I vote for Dave!!

I did Dave's Triple Disc and not much more to the tranny (some little plate on the valvebody that Dave sent me) and the truck is amazing, my HP certainly didn't need a Triple but in a pretty much stock Auto his converter really did the trick. On Dave, awesome guy, he will sell you only what you need, I opted for the Triple.
