silver bullet...more boost or less?

well i know with many of the smaller turbos less is more because 35psi will give you more cool air than 45psi and better power while not creating extra heat.

what about on something as big as a silver bullet? I'm at 42psi wastegated with it and it cools my 500+hp very well and keeps me under 1500* and usually under 1400*

i have not even touched the boost elbow, i have been happy with the performance thus far, and i am pretty much safe with o-rings and studs at 42psi. but i've been thinking about closing up the boost elbow to squeeze about 50 out of it.

anyone here run a silver bullet at higher boost pressures and get more power?

I'd pinch it off and see what it does... I think mid to high 40's is about where you want to be.

Like you said, with a bigger turbo, you will see less boost, because it is moving more air more efficiently, and it is cooling your EGTs

I see 55 lbs of boost out of my Silver Bullet, but I have a 3rd gen.

I dont think pinching the hose will do anything, but it is worth a shot

yea would love to have a DP gauge to get it set at 1:1

i may tighten up the boost elbow a little bit and take it up to about 48 and see if there is any difference...even if it just drops my EGT's another 50* its worth it

you should be just fine on drive pressure at 48psi... 1:1 or better based on my experience

My 66 hits about 50 and i think anywhere between 45 and 50 is a good range for these turbos but I'm gonna try to buy some time on the dyno soon and play with my wastegate, Smarty/TST #s, and my Snow kit i just got, and try to find the best setup

yeah i have called HTT and II and both of them said on a 64, 66, silverbullet type turbo, the peak effenciency for them is right in that range of 45 to 50. any turbo i dont care what size it is, is going to make HOT boost over 45psi i would think.
