what is it. and how do i remove it? i hear about people talking about it all the time. and im only 16. so i dont know much about diesels.

 

remove the intake tube from the front of the turbo and there will be a c clip, pull that out and the silencer will come out. its just a noise reducer, when removed it lets you hear the whistle of the turbo. there is no performance enhancement from it, it just sounds cool

Just pulled my silencer ring.. It sounds much better!!!

 

Now get rid of the factory air box and through a BHAF on there! It will whistle like crazy!

 

Ihave the stock turbo on my truck still with the ring removed and I have an amsoil BHAF in place of the stock airbox. It whistles pretty darn loud at full throttle! It sounds good still but it is loud.

 

I took mine off recently and with my Amsoil BHAF it'll sure scare the deer out of the way. Or gators in my case....
