I took Shovelheads advice and also dropped Sam a line regarding them.
Got an email saying he needed to talk to me in person (phone) regarding them, so I'm thinking maybe they don't come that long.

Same shocks as the 1500...
IIRC, you're running the SJ 4.5" kit? You should be fine with the part #'s above. You can always contact Bilstein direct and get the compressed/extended length of that part #, and compare it to the shocks you have now.
Talked to Sam today and Bilstein doesn't make them "off the shelf"
They make them for the 1500, but he wouldn't sell them to be put on a 2500, especially one with all the front end weight we have.
He suggested calling Bilstein direct and asking them, then if they have a part number give him a call back and he'll get some pricing.
Being that Bilsteins aren't cheap to begin with, having them special ordered would be just a wee bit more than I want to spend at this time.
I'll check with the place I got my lift from and see what they offer, they might already have a deal with Bilstein for ones that will actually work.

He is more a lowered truck kinda guy.
I didn't think mine was lifted "that much", and it looks lower and lower each day.

He sold 'em to Ed to put on his 3500......it's probably the same valving in a longer shock. Bilstein doesn't list anything for the 3500 in my info.
KORE is using an off the shelf 5100 for the fronts in his "Chase" kit, so as long as the length and stroke fit, the valving will be fine. Maybe Greg Boardman will chime in with a front part number......
My truck isn't 4X4 though so the longer shocks shouldn't be an issue.
The role of a shock isn't to support the weight as much as to control the harmonic oscillations of the suspension.
Ohhhh I Looooove big words.
now heading to www.dictionary.com to find out what I just said

Well said Ed.....
(Ed said "harmonic oscillations")
Don't need no shock to control MY harmonic oscillations....quite the contrary. As I get older, I'm more in need of the spring.....

There was a brown box waiting for me when I got home.
My Bilsteins are here.
There are also already installed.
Front & Rears in just a touch over two hours.
Rears not too bad (except for the passanger's side lower, needed to drop one side of the sway bar to get the bolt past.)
Fronts....much more time consuming.
Sawzall used to cut about 4" off the dust covers, then vise grips on the shock shaft, 18mm socket & air ratchet to spin off the top nut.
Jack stand under frame & floor jack used to move the lower control arm up & down as needed to get the old shock out & the new one in.
PB Blaster to break the rust on the old hardware.
Real test tomorrow on the way to work.
