Which shocks should I get?

My truck is riding extremely rough and I think it is because he factory shocks are completely shot. Which shocks are the best all around? I have been looking at the rancho 9000s with the in-cab controller but I have been hearing mixed reviews.

I have had great use out of the Rancho 9000's. They now have over 200,000 on them and they still control it although not quite as well as new. Still beat the originals hands down, which were almost uncontrolable.

I have the OEM version of the Bilstein shocks. They are firm shocks, but very nice.

bmoeller,
Are those Bilsteins the 5100's or another series? Been thinking about going with those myself.

I ordered a set of Bilsteins from www.StranoParts.com

Sam is one of our advertising vendors on our site.
They should be here in about a week.
Good, helpful customer service.

After 75,000 miles on the original OEM shocks, I'm being told the difference will be dramatic.

The increased power has the dually's rear end dribbling like a basketball.

After they're installed I'll report back.

Call me cheap or maybe just practical but the guaranteed free replacement for life Monroe shocks that many tires chains sell work better for me than the stockers ever did for a fraction of the price of Ranchos or Bilsteins.
Plus they're the last ones you'll need to buy.

I'm hoping to say the same for the only set of Bilsteins I'll need to buy.
Install them only one time.
We shall see.

Just put Rough Country 9000 Series on mine. They sure are an improvement over the ones that were on there and they were only $142 to the door.

i put on rancho 9000 this spring. i run them in the middle empty, then max them out when i use my camper with my horse trailer. best shocks i've ever owned. how else can you get the best ride empty or loaded? i did not buy the in cab kit because i know alot of them leak. it take less than 5 minutes to manually adjust them

I love my 5100's. I think you have to have at least a leveling kit on your truck though. Mine are 2" longer in the front and stock length in the rear.

This is the last set of shocks I'm buying....(at least for this truck)

http://www.kingshocks.com/shocks.htm

If I was still anywhere close to stock, I'd do the Bilsteins. 5100 or 5150 are by far the best shock for the money.

Does the 5100 come long enough for us with 5" lifts?

Part #s?

I took Shovelheads advice and also dropped Sam a line regarding them.

Got an email saying he needed to talk to me in person (phone) regarding them, so I'm thinking maybe they don't come that long.
