Sheids VP44 vs PDW VP44
Sheids VP44 vs PDW VP44
Shopping for a new VP44. With claims around the 100 WHP mark, makes sense to drop the extra $600 on a high performance pump.
Ive seen some like the Sheids, but even more like the Performance Diesel Warehouse pump.
Sheids is about $200 more.
Do either of these use NEW housings? Ive read this is a big problem with why Vp44's repeatedly fail, that places rebuild with old housings.
If you can kindly chime in with your pennies on which of these pumps you have or if you know more than I do about them..
Going to be ordering one tomarro if the income tax hits.
Greatly appreciated,
Tim

Oh and i did do a search and read alot of posts, but everyones posts seem a little biased and "fuels hard" isnt a fair comparison in my book.
Looking for good facts on the real differences between the two.

PDW gets their pumps from industrial injection http://www.industrialinjection.com/m...ory_Code=Dodge
Several of us have gotten VP's from PDW and it seems like everybody is happy.
I had injectors installed at the same time so I can't comment on the power. Forum member spicyjam did dyno tests before/after a HRVP install and showed a gain. Not 100 hp, but he was overfueled with a comp and hx35- I think it was 35hp w/ comp on or 70hp with it off if I recall correctly. How much of a gain you'll see will depend on what's already on the truck and probably it'd make a difference if its a ETH or ETC.
Bottom line is call Doug @ PDW: He can get you a hot rod pump or a normal VP

I agree that scheids dyno tests their pumps and I applaud scheid for doing the dyno tests.
I just talk to a lot of different people running HRVP pumps and results vary greatly from truck to truck for sure.

That truck that was tested at Scheids Diesel Extravaganza is a close friend of mine. It was a 02Auto not a ho and it had rv275's in it. The HRVP
made a HUGE difference and would recommend this pump to anyone interested. IT IS DYNO TESTED and it did make a huge gain, but as you know the more your truck has the less of a difference it is going to make.
If interested call Bill at BRC diesel (859)635-5655 he has the best prices i have seen.

PDW sells industrial Injection pumps? Who builds Shieds pumps? Or do they rebuild there?
I installed a II HRVP and it gave my truck a good 60-80 hp. It now runs with the comp off as good as it did with the comp on level 3-4!!!
