setup on 37" toyo's 1998 24 valve

I just bought a 1998 extended cab, cummins, long bed 4x4. I would like to set it up on 37" toyos on an 18" wheel. through all of the reading on here it appears as if i must build my own lift. seems like don thurens trac bar and control arms are on my list along with bilstein shocks.

all of the lift kits are so conservative on tire size. i see trucks with a 5" kit running 37's. the skyjacker kits show a 7" kit for a 35 or 36" tire which is not correct.
looking for input on springs and steering components?

thoughts please and thank you

I run the SkyJacker 4.5 and Toyo MT 35's and easily clear the front end even on full lockup.

Could I fit 37's yea most likely the fender well's are SO LARGE on our truck's that it can be done....and as you have stated some people are doing it...but the dang things are sooooooo big it is a strain on the PS pump and the front end needs to be looked at every so often (tq and re-tq of bolts and nuts)

I just recently had to tighten the passenger side track bar nut and bolt it rattled loose and then found that the collar on my drop pitman had a loose bolt and one that completly droped out....made a aweful grinding noise when turning and or hitting a pot hole and that is the only way I found out....and that is on 35's.....BIG TIRES are heavy, power robbing, fuel mileage crushing, transmission KILLERS!!!!!!!

careful of smaller than stock backspace on wheels that will effect the max tire size you can run without fender rub

I would not recommend the skyjunker lift. Yea, they'll lift a truck but your ride will suffer and they wouldn't stand behind their product when I needed a replacement. I'd go w/Carli or Kore.

I'm running TOYO 35s on stock rims as well with Carli front springs. Awesome off road and quiet on the street. So far lasted about 4 years with at least 10K left on the tires. I just came back from three separate trips with three fill ups, averaged 17 mpg. I didn't take it easy either. You will be happy. Let us know where you found the cheapest price for them.

i have bought the carli starter system, adjustable trac bar and trac bar bracket from klm performance. super nice folks and they know what they are talking about.
i want to go with the toyo my 315 70r18. i dont really understand the difference between offset and backspacing but i would like to got with the xd rockstar or revolver wheel. i also like the moto metal 955 but it shows -12 offset and 4.53 backspacing which i think is not enough.

Glad to see you went with Carli stuff. I won't comment on KORE because I will get in trouble on this board but steer clear. As far as wheels I would go with stock third gen 17" wheels and powder coat them if they aren't the color you are looking for. They are the correct offset and won't cause as many steering issues with the bigger tires.

Running a Fabtech 5.5" long arm kit w/ 37's myself. I like the lift. Would like to get 2-3 more inches but oh well for now. Although I clear fine, I did have to roll the corner of the front fenders near the doors a tiny bit so the tires don't hit on a dipped turn. Fabtech said up to a 35" tire w/ their kit. Now I'm thinking about lifting a few more inches but don't want a body lift and don't really want to sacrifice my current ride. So idk... If I were to do it again, I might just go with the skyjacker 7". Their kit uses an indexing ring and tilts the tranny down a bit though.

As far as gearing.. I've got 3.54's and it feels just fine with 37's. I like the lowered cruising RPMs.
