Scotty Issue...
Scotty,

I have come into possesion of a Scotty Uno (thanks Battering Ram, who upgraded to a Dos) and I bought a new K&N for it (re-0940), now how exactly do you get the metal ring to go into the filter?? I put the new filter in the truck for 20 mins with heat on full blast with three vents pointing at the rubber to make it so soft and supple but NOPE still couldn't fan-dangle that ring into the outlet of the filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this.. 2 vice-grips and 3 screwdrivers couldn't perusade it either... is there some method I'm not thinking of?

The hole saw is standing by getting real impatient

Thanks,

Re:Scotty Issue...
I would run the AFE filter. If you hold the K&N's up next to the AFE's and look them over the Afe's always look like a better product. Plus they mold a Velocity stack shape into the base of the filter. THis will help with CFM....

Kurt Yardley (KwikKurt)
[glow=red, 2, 300 ]MILD TO WILD DIESEL PERFORMANCE INC.[/glow]Silver City NM
505-534-0434
Re:Scotty Issue...
I agree totally w/ Kirk. Early on with my Scotty 1 (Psychotty) set up running a RE-0880 I sealed the backs side using some stick on foam. THe first run when I put the hammer down it completely colapsed the filter. I was every lucky it didn't come apart and eat my turbo. AFE didn't make there RE-0880 replacement yet so I went back with the K&N again. When I got my AFE I again sealed the back again(some dogs don't ever learn) I ran the AFE that way until I got my Scotty 2. It now has better than 50K on it and is still doing great.

AFE is a step ahead of K&N.
