scotty II ?

hi guys just another mod question here. i want to get a scotty II is that a good intake set up for the money or is there something else out there you guys prefer. a scotty II from wildcat diesel is 199.00. thats alot cheaper than alot of the other intakes ive been looking at. does that mean more money better air flow and better filtering?

thanks, mooseman

I just got a new AFE stage 1 w/ the proguard7 filter and a cleaning/recharging kit off Ebay for about the same price w/ shipping.
Under edit: I just noticed your truck is an '01. The kit I got was for a '95. It might pay to look at Ebay anyway... there are good deals to be had, if you know what you're looking for.

I'm using the scotty 2 after having had a BHAF- I'm very content with the performance.

Wildcat Diesel Performance & Scotty are the team behind the Scotty Air Systems.
Anyone else you bought it from would have received it from them.

When you cut the hole in the cowl for the Scotty II (if you choose to, that is) does this hole penatrate into the passenger compartment? I wouldn't think so, but what do I know?

Nope ... goes into the cowl area. I've got some pictures on my "Members Photo Gallery".

Noise reduction. The object is to separate the Scotty II from the air intake vents.

I would like to hear more about the dams too. If they work seems like it would be worth the trouble to take the cover off. Guess I could fill that cavity with some open, or closed cell foam (my dad owns a spray foam insulation business) to deaden that noise .
