Running boards for a 1996 3500 C&C 4x4
I am looking for running boards that mount to the FRAME, not just screwed into the cab sheetmetal with cheesy self-tappers. Would prefer old school BOARDS, not nerf tubes or stirrup steps, gotta be sturdy enough to hold up to large-size hubby climbing in and out, and only cab length (standard cab, but need to clear tool boxes under the flatbed).
So far only ones I'm finding that have installation instructions just screw to the cab in 2-3 places, NOT what I'd call a solid mounting system. Would love to have them about 5-6 inches drop below door sill, this truck is tall enough stock. And, yes, we are OLD people, no off-road, no rock climbing for this work truck, so clearance is not a huge issue.
Any ideas?

I have Stull SS running boards on my truck. They are mounted to the frame and cab with criss crossed metal brackets and are sturdy enough for my 240 lbs. I was gonna junk them after I bought the truck, but they are handy for tying stuff down on my lumber rack and help keep my truck a lot cleaner so I left them on.
Check them out.
