Maverick Running Boards & service

Placed a order for Maverick running boards & a rear bumper to be installed at the Dallas location on January 28.
Placed the order with Jessie @ Maverick on January 19 and was informed the material would be available for installation on the 28 or 29th.
I asked if a deposit would be required and was told this was not necessary. Sounds like a good place to get the new items that I cannot seem to live without . Arrive at Maverick ( company name is GTX) on the 28th @ 11;00 am and find out that the parts are nowhere to be had.
I explain I had spoke with Jessie on the 19 & placed the order with him for the installation. The female employee(receptionist) told me that she would contact Jessie & get back with me ASAP. I informed her that I had drve 8+ hrs for this material and gave her my cell #..
January 29 comes & goes, no phone call no parts, call in afternoon to remind the receptionist don't forget me because I am from out of town..
Call on Monday a.m. and ask to speak to Jessie and the receptionist tells me he is in a meeting for 30 minutes and will return my call. Call again in 45 minutes and a Gentalman answers the phone and tells me Jessie has left and will return in 1 hour, I explain I really would like to talk to someone about material & installation for my truck. Jessie is the man to talk to. This would be great if you cauld talk to Jessie or he would return your calls.
Start to head back to the home front which would take me by GTX on the way out of town and call one last time for Jessie. Receptionist tells me Jessie is in a meeting(That is it: LIE's, LIE's , LIE's) I tell her to quit the bs & please have this person call me at his convience...
To finish my rant drove 16 hrs. no new parts, got a ticket for speeding and GTX will not reply to e-mail ( have sent 3) I am afraid to call I think I would lose my cool The only good out of this is Dallas is a nice place to visit & did not lose any money in deposits..
Just thought you guys should know..
Buyer beware...

I had a hard time getting just a price form him. Took many many e-mails. Finally got the price but decided that was not the service I wanted. Check out South west fabricators.

swf@southwestfabricators.com

Same qualitcy if not better. They look almost exactly the same as what Jessie makes and are cheaper. Running boards are $459 plus shipping. Asked if he had a discount for DTR memebers. He never heard of it but asked for the web address so he could check it out. They are located in Junction, Texas.

Thanks deere nut that is some information I really will use. I agree that GTX is a questionable orginazation to deal with.. I wonder if Southwest does bumpers or if just to go with Ranchhand

They make bumpers, headache racks, and a lot of other stuff. Way cheaper than Ranch hand and just as good. Their website has pictures of all of their products.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with them, I got one of their bumpers and called once when I ordered it and once before I came and got it to make sure it was done. No problems. I like mine, like deerenut said SWF also makes nice stuff.

I really like.......

The double tube rear bumper.... Picture is found under the FORD heading but they make it for Dodge too!

They were also willing to make me Running boards, full length, out of 3" pipe and diamond plate for my truck... The ones they show are 2" I think.

Look at the double pipe rear bumper on this page

Sorry to hear about your experience with Maverick

I had a maverick bumper replacement installed last month. I was going to have one installed by GTX and called Jesse because I was in a hurry and had to go out of town. Jesse referred me to one of his dealers in Lancaster who actually had more Maverick bumpers in stock than GTX themselves. They installed the bumper in two hours the same day I called them.

Jesse was extremely helpful. He set the whole thing up since he was out of stockIt's sad that you had to endure what you did. That is not Jesse's standard operating procedure.

If you want Maverick Accessories installed for less than what you can get them for direct from GTX. Contact Hal Shaffer At Lone Star Truck (972) 224-4000. They were very professional and extremely careful with my truck.

Thumbs down

Well I still am waiting for a reply from Jessie or a employee of GTX. A referal to a dealer would have suited me just fine but I was never offered this information. I did not know or have a clue to who carries their products & would have them in stock. You should get a commission for your referal, I think the design of the Bumpers is top notch Just a bad business orginazation.. I will still send e-mails till 2005 or he replies, just to see if he will reply. All calls are suspended due to the fact they just never reply anyway and I hate spending another dime for a lost cause I am still going to install a set of running boards & bumper and will keep the forum updated to which brand. Still could be GTX/Maverick if I could get a reply but I doubt very seriously with that type of support...

Hopefully Jesse will call

I notice that you have installed the 2" levelling kit. How is it working for you? Any changes in steering?

No steering changes & makes the truck level. I would recommend to all that it is a good upgrade & cheap...

2" Leveling Kit

Who's 2" lift did you use? Did you install it yourself or did you have it installed?
