Exclamation HELP Rotary vane style fuel pump

I have a bully dog set up on the frame rail of my truck my stock lp is going out and I'm just curious if I get a different pump and put it in place of the pusher pump will this work? Right now I'm only running on 8psi from the pusher on the whole system I can buy a rotary vane style pump from Napa that is 100gph max and 18psi if I put that in place of my 8 psi pump won't that now give me 18psi at the IP on the whole system then I won't have to buy a FASS or something different right?

You need a bypass regulator with a rotary vane pump. Otherwise, most van pumps will either burn themselves up or damage the IP because they can't internally bypass.

100gph is overkill for your needs, but if you plumb it with a return style regulator, you could filter the return feed and get nice clean fuel as it's continuously filtered as it recirculates.

Regulator

Everything you need as far as plumbing it pictured below including the regulator and the return line, you'd just be using a different pump

Interesting idea on the ff on the return line Hohn.

My concern on the FF/return idea is that if it got plugged you'd have a high pressure spike and a potentially serious problem. A pump that needs a bypass regulator will fight to the death to pump if that return line gets plugged, and I suspect that something will break...what, I don't know.

The water drain lever on the canister lets go in really high press situation. I found out when messing around with the walbro and a valve for a return regulator.
