I got my switch here. http://www.cal-mustang.com/showdetl-7-5526-26-0.html You could probably get it at napa but this on had a rubber boot on it that I liked.

Thx Charlie! I went ahead and made an order for one of those. How did you mount it? Two small bolts through the floor? DId you have to insulate it from the floor to keep the housing from making a ground?

I just used to self-tappng screws to mount it. No need it insulate the switch from the floor. Take the center terminal and ground it to one of the bolts you mounted the switch with, and connect either one of the other terminals to the TQ.

Ok now my brain is going. Do you know which wires to tap on the trans. and is that all you have to do? Just one wire? Also, what would happen if you have it locked up then slowed down and forgot to unlock it? And can you do this a stock 47RE?
Everything you're looking for is right here:

And my understanding is yes it will stall if you leave the lockup on and come to a stop.
I have the same 47re but I'm not going to put a lockup switch on it until I have an upgraded Torque Converter, probably Goerend.
Good luck with it!

If I do this, would it help me when pulling up mountains in 1-3rd? I know that when I made this pull last year, the TC would not locked up and created a lot of heat. When decending the mountain, I would put it in 1st or 2nd and "try" to let the trans hold me back. This also heated it up. Will a lock-up help me or would I just be pissin in the wind?
