Remove heater grid, more power?

Just wondering if I could gut the grid to get more power. It never gets that cold here so I was wondering if anyone has ever done it?

I wouldn't screw with it. It's not hurting you any. Even guys pushing big boost are leaving them in.

You might gain .0000000000001 hp from it if you were pushing 150psi.

The biggest problem with the grid heaters is the seals tend to blow out both top or bottom. I have lost 3 around 50psi of boost. even if you replace the grid heaters with that plate you will still have the same problem. If you really want to get rid of it your best bet it to have or make a new air intake horn that bolts directly to the engine with no spacer or adapter.

dodgeman,
Haisley Machine makes copper gaskets, you should look into them.

Jambbii,
I dunno if it made any difference in my '98 12v. I installed a Twin-Ram manifold and completely gutted the heater grids out of mine. I wanted the least restriction I could get.
