anybody running these on a 2nd gen. truck??? if so can I just swap out the lenses from the new kit with my old amber lenses??? I think I read somewhere that you have to cut or splice into the factory wiring to hook up the recon lights???? wanting to order a set, just curious as to the best way to go about the install?????? thanks, Dusty

 

You have to cut and splice for the harness. I'm less than satisfied with mine. Not even 11 months old and the chrome is peeling from the base, I can't get them to stop leaking, and the clear lens's are turning yellow. I've waxed these things about half a dozen times and I've put silicone all around the base and even in the screw holes to get them to stop leaking. Nothing.

 

i have them on my 3rd gen truck. the fit is less than perfect. i have been on the phone with them about everyday this week. they are sending out another set of gaskets. i think if i double up on the gaskets. they will seal!

 

you do have to pull the headliner out to splice into heat headlight. Mine aren't leaking but they do look like they are turning yellow.

 

well, maybe the good looks aren't worth the added hassle????? might just leave mine alone for now, thanks guys, Dusty

 

Wish I had. They were supposed to be sending me a whole new kit with the upgraded LED's but I ain't seen stuffing. They'll be hearing from me tomorrow.

 

mine were 40 bucks off of ebay.
