Recommendation on Tranny and Diff fluids for your CTD.

I will be going on a 700 mile one way haul to the Paint Horse Congress in October and before I go I'm replacing all the drivetrain fluids. I need your help with suggestions.

Questions on fluids:
1. What do you use in the tranny? ATF +4?
2. What do you use in the differentials? Syn what weight and make?
3. What do you use in the transfer case?

Thank you in advance. Srigs

I use Amsoil synthetic tranny fluid in the trans and the transfer case and their series 3000 75w-90 in the diffs, I don't tow often and when I do it is usually relatively light. If I towed heavy I would use the 140 I have not needed to add any friction modifier for my lsd. Am happy with the results and will continue to use. Been using it for 70k now. There are several good quality ones out there choose the ones that make you most comfortable. I think most of them are good and will do the job. The real question I feel is in the cost/value relationship. I plan on keeping my vehicle for a very long time and felt the synthetic would help it last that much longer. If I were one who traded vehicles every few years I would stick with the dino fluids and save the money.

I use Mobil-1 synthetic in the tranny and in the diffs with no problems. I have heard of many that use Amsoil, Redline, etc. Good luck.

Amsoil all the way around, the tranny runs very cool for our large trailer. I use 140 for the rear end!

Currently running ATF+3 in the tranny (already have the Amsoil, just trying to find the time to change it).

Running Royal Purple 85W-140 in both diffs.
