Rebuild Turbo

Can anyone reccomend somewhere to send my turbo to be rebuilt? It is still functioning correctly however there is some slight play in the shaft and it has 335K miles on it. This is on a mostly stock truck and I am looking to keep it that way (around 250hp/500ftlbs).

Question- Where should I send it, what does it generally cost for the most basic rebuild?

Thanks!

Describe slight play. There will always be some clearance in the bearings (or you're in for problems), so you may be sending it off for nothing. You should be able to buy rebuild kits for it online or from a turbo shop. I got one for my S300 a couple years ago that was around $150 for bearings and seals.

It's normal to have side to side play but if you can feel any fore to aft play it needs rebuilding.
It costs about $75 for a rebuild kit. If you're mechanical enough to take the turbo off then you're also qualified to rebuild it.
You can buy a kit or have these guys do it for you> http://www.htturbo.com/ great outfit to work with.

Depends on your feel, I guess. Normal end play is around .004" IIRC.

.004" is about the same thickness as plastic saran wrap.
Don't think I could detect that much play by feel.
