rear diff housing material

rear diff housing material

I am planning some suspension work and need to know what the diff housing is made out of on a 2001 2500 with single rear wheel. I am pretty sure that it is a Dana 60.

Axle Housing

The axle housing is made of cast Iron and if you were thinking about doing fab work to the rear end housing then you are going to need a welding rod or wire with a high nickel rating.
