Question Ready to install FASS pump, coupla questions..

- does it make any difference if I leave the stock pump on? seems to me it could just be left since it is bypassed anyway?
- others have written of problems getting the old line off the tank end, any helpful hints for this or on the general install? Dont want !

I am not a mechanic, and am trying to anticipate any problems. I cant afford to have any problems since I need to drive it to work. For a newbie with average skills, how long should this take? Thanks in advance!

It is pretty easy to do, but it will require some mechanical savy. If you have a buddy that can help you that can make it go better.

Getting the hose off was the easiest past. There are two tabs just push them togeather (towards the metal tube), and it should easily pull off. Mounting the pump is fairly straight forward, but the instructions are not totoally clear on where to mount it.

Take the stock pump out and run it over PLEASE. Then use the FASS kit from the tank to the front. Just mount the pump on the outside of the frame, level and in front of the fuel tank inlet a little. I just did mine and it was easy, don't think you will have problems.I ran the fuel line up with the other lines and wire tied it every 1 1/2'. Are you using the stock filter housing? Oh, take the old line off up front first, I pulled it off the tank first and washed my face with #2, its not recommended!

Where to mount?

Your sig says youre a long bed...mount it on the front BED support. You gotta
drill two holes as I recall. That's the hardest part!
As for the old pump...you can leave it on or remove it. The instructions assume you will bypass the old filter canister but some plumb through it, some
remove it too.

This whole job is MUCH easier if you have a lift or pit to work with. I couldn;t
get my tank line unplugged trying to half-sit on the garage floor. I had to PAY
a guy to finish the plumbing part. Bummer. I later found out it is no big deal
to remove the two driver side bed bolts and loosen the other side, then jack
up the bed. You could actually see then!

Good luck.
