Rack plug

Alright, I have been doing some research and I have not found the answers I am looking for.

My first question is what does the plug do?
It allows the rack to travel farther foward, right
If that is the case, can I remove mine and mill the end down

I heard that you can only remove the plug by taking off the timing cover or grinding it down, is this true?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Jason

You need to pull the pump back far enough to get the plug out......I never grind the cover. The plugs are only about 15 bucks, so I wouldnt waste my time mess'in with the stock one.

Yeah the plug allows the rack to travel farther if your AFC is modified to let
it do that. You have to pull the pump back to get it out, and the stock one's dimensions arn't pyhsically big enough to make it bigger, some say they have shimed it to stick out farther.

You don't have to pull the pump back to change it out you can use a dye grinder and just grind a little bit of the timmiong case and that will allow the room to change it out.
