I found a holset HX40 style turbo. Its actualy a H1E non-waste gated turbo. this turbo is equipped with a T03 style tubine inlet and has a 14cm turbine housing. Will this work for my set up? do i need to rig up a waste gate for it? its used so how many miles is OK? What will my boost be approximatly? Thanks

 

oh and i have the oem jacobs exhaust brake. Will the 14cm turbine housing bolt to that? Thanks

 

bd02, I think I seen the one you're talking about on ebay, I'd say PASS big time. It had the less desireable 7 or 8 blade compressor wheel, not the 6 blade- 60mm. With any h1e or hx40, they are weak, and you sure don't wanna spin it into orbit from using a non-wastegated turbine housing. Seemed pretty $$cheap too for one, sounds fishy. If a true 40 or h1e and not just a hybrid, it will have a 4" exhaust outlet. The smallest turbine housing I've heard of for one is a 16cm wastegated housing. This one is probly a hybrid with a hx35 14cm housing on it with 3" exhaust outlet. If so, I imagine one could use an exhaust brake if its 3". Pass bro.
