Pyro / Towing question

I noticed while towing my boat today (4700lbs) at 55-60mps that the pyro was up around 1100 on slight hills. Is that normal? I am new to diesel and
the cummins. It cooled down on level spots to about 7-800. What is the temp that I should worry at?

My truck does not have a tow button, but it does have a O/D on off button. What should I tow in O/D off, or O/D off and slip into overdrive when cruising at 60mph?

My transmission is a DTS automatic, built by those guys up in Chilliwack BC.

Need some help on this one

its normal for your egt's to rise while climbing a hill. Dont let it get above 1250 deg for more than a couple seconds. Dont lug the truck while pulling.

Your truck can handle 1250 all day long. No sweat for what you're seeing.

EGT's will go up on a hill if you let the engine drop in RPM's. Like on steeper hills downshift get the rpm's up to around 2000-2200 and the egts will drop, as long as up dont have to keep it on the floor to maintain those rpms on a given hill.
