I have a south bend dd 3600lb clutch in mine and I love it. They are a little noisy with pedal pressed down. They will hold just about anything. They say the new one south bend has out now don't have any noise to it. I paid around $1500 a couple of years ago for the clutch and another $500 for the bigger input shaft on my 5 spd. There are others out there but not sure about them this is the only one I have tried. I have pulled with it the last few years and it is still going with 50,000 miles on it. The pedal is a little stiffer though but that didn't bother me.

there ain't anything that will just 'SLIP except the clutch... you break anything else ...there is a bang, ... then you stop

and you really should be able to smell the clutch if you burned it

I'm running the Southbend 3600# Street Comp 12CB (650hp).

Absolutely 100% satisfied with mine. Easy to back up to trailers (Not graby). I do a few sled pulls with it each summer, pedal pressure is firm, but not heavy.
It makes a little noise idling in neutral, but nothing drowning.
The hydraulic upgrade isn't required on this clutch on an 02', but I believe any bigger plate load will require the upgrade.

No your truck is not at 550hp. What makes you think that your clutch is trashed?

It's called a weak tranny, specifically the Torque Converter.

In response to you not being able to do a burn out have you tried smashing the go peddle then letting the truck move about a foot or so then stand on the brake if that doesn't do it check under the hood you might have a power stroke seriously my 01 does the same thing if the computer reads 0 speed then it will defuel I think at like 10psi but if you let it move a bit you can fool it and you will be able to burn em off.
