problem with my Tag

I serviced my truck today. When I took my Scotty II out to clean it the tag was in the turbo boot sideways. It looks like it got into the bolt that holds the impeller blade in. A few chunks missing on the tag but I did'nt see any damage to the fins inside the turbo.
I have barked the turbo & have hit an over boost code before. I'm not sure if it was do to barking the turbo that caused it to get pushed out sideways.

I'm posting this so you guys might want to check it from time to time.

It's an aftermarket device that fits into the turbo inlet to straighten out the airflow directly ahead of the turbo.

Read more about it here.

TY, that does not look good. Hope the turbo is not damaged or pieces now downstream of turbo do not cause problem.

I would take that thing out untill a more secure method is found to hold it in!

That thing would wreck your turbo if it found its way into it sideways.

Yea I took it out & it's going to stay out untill I get a chance to talk to DPP. I liked the little gain in fuel milage I got while towing, along with it pulling better on the hills. I know I'm at the limit of my hy35 turbo with the hp I have & that may have been a factor. For I can bark this turbo without even trying. Think it's time for a Dodgezilla.

Dang that sucks.

You needed a bigger turbo to keep cool anyway.

T.Y.

Barking will push the TAG out of position unless held in place by ridge in STOCK air inlet hose, which neither of us has. Since my B-1 turbo, which is very hard to bark, have less problem. Solved it with dab of Super Glue Gel on each side of TAG lip. Still easy to break loose if need to but holds it rest of the time.

TAG

tankeryanker,

Sorry to see you had a problem with the TAG coming loose in the hose. Here is a quote from our install instructions which may help you and others to avoid problems like this.

"If you feel additional support is needed to secure the TAG in the hose you can add a hose clamp around the outside of the hose where the TAG fits into the boot groove. If you do use an extra hose clamp, be certain not to over tighten it to avoid the edge of the TAG damaging the boot."

Give me a call and I will be happy to replace your TAG with a new one and discuss this problem with you.

Does that mean the TAG will fit on the B-1 series chargers?

I have been thinking about getting the TAG, but am also thinking about going to a KSB1, and didn't want to waste my $150.

Chris

Will fit with minor mod - and works very well; smooths idle, increases spool up and brings HP in earlier.

Talk to Dave (Car_nut57) before installing B-1.
