power puck

I'm trying to decide which power upgrade to start with. I have heard good things about the diablo power puck, but I am having a hard time finding any good information about it on the internet. Does it do boost fooling like the edge ez or not. What do you guys think.

They do do boost fueling. I had one on my 01 and I like it. It did what I expected it to do.

thanks for the reply. I thought maybe they did because they plug into the map sensor, but I wasn't sure. Can't find any information about it on their web site.

how were your EGT's with the puck on the different settings. i'm looking into one for a little more power when i'm towing and of course for better fuel mileage. you can see what little mods i have in my sig.

a Diablo Power puck doesnt plug into the map sensor.. i had one.. and it just hooked into the injection pump harnesss.. it went where the stock one was and the stock one hooked into the chip.. easies thing in the world to connect, and yes its pretty much the same **** thing as an EZ box.. same specs.. but you can DETUNE the power puck for less HP if you want.. but its already tuned to max when you buy it.

Maybe the 99 model does not plug into the map sensor, but i think that it does. I know for a fact that the power puck for 01 and 02 models do plug into the map sensor. Any box that you purchase that plugs into the map sensor will have boost fooling capabilities

The puck I had on mine did plug into the map sensor. It never defueled on me when over 20psi but I did have the overboost code. It is a nice mild upgrade and I never had any EGT issues with it. What I find amusing though is the puck, the Van Aaken, the EZ, and the Smarty are all rated at the same power but for some reason the Smarty is in a league of it's own as far as SOP feel, driveability, and the fun factor.

That is odd, i just installed one on my fathers 02 6spd and he has no overboost code and it is making almost 35psi

I was having some other issues at the time so I'm not positive the overboost code was from the puck. Although on my stock truck with the puck the most I could get the boost to was 30psi, and that was with the wastegate totally blocked so it would never open. Is he running something else with it?

I'm very happy with my Power Puck. I gained over 2 mpg (w/ other mods) and have plenty of power. I couldn't imagine running the Comp on 5x5.

Sometimes the Puck is cheap on ebay, I bought mine for $167.00. Best mod yet!!!!!

I want to turnbuckle the waste gate and get more power next.

Just guessing but I would imagine your biggest mileage gain came from the topper. Those and tonneau covers make quite a difference in mileage.

The only other mods that are done to his truck are a intake and straight pipe and FASS. I put a different boost elbow on his turbo for him. Back in the begining i ran the powerpuck on my truck with a turnbuckle on the wastegate and i could peg my 35psi gauge at the time.

Same way on my 2000 model, plugged into the Injection Pump. Does the Power Puck on a 2000 add fuel and timing?
