Dont know how handy you are, but basic porting is pretty straight forward if you have a grinder and a carbide burr. You are going to want to ease the short side radius at the valve and eliminate any obvious restrictions as well as heavy casting marks or flash. Unless you are building an all out competition engine you will likely see little to no benefits from a full port anyhow.

Port matching will help alot. One of the gains from someone doing the right porting will be an increase of engine rpm. Behind the intake and exhaust valve in the bowl area there is a lot of rough casting that can be smoothed out. Look at it this way, "Everything follows the least path of Resistance"

If you try to do it yourself, check out the Piers Diesel Research (PDR) website. Somewhere on there they have some nice photos of the ports with the sections that you'd be shaping. It's a good place to see what some do to the ports in these heads. Everyone has their little "tricks" that they do when porting, but, the pictures at PDR pretty much sum up what your trying to achieve. My brother-in-law would do it for you, but, his shop is in western PA...the shipping would have to be out of this world. Put it this way, he does machine work for a diesel shop out of West Viginia and they drive the parts up to him, then pick them back up when done...fuel costs less then the shipping, even at the current price of gas and diesel.

I did my own,all day job,but what a difference in spoolup & egt's gotta be at least 150-200 less,I found a piece of slag in #1 intake that probably blocked 1/2 of it.
The only mistake I might of made is when I mateched up the ex I've read the hea@ the gasket area shouls be smaller dia than the manifold & I made mine the same ,this can cause reverse flow.I also opened up the housing area where the turbo mounts both the exhaust man. & turbo.
