Please HELP!! HG and valve springs??

I have seen a lot of trucks with these and what do they do for you?? Let more exhaust out? My HG is toast I think, I'm smelling coolant, my gas pedal is hard to push (maybe from afc spring not getting enough boost?) Coolant is puking from the passenger side in the front of the motor.. (water pump maybe??)

Get the head surfaced and magnafluxed for cracks. If it needs a rebuild have themdo that. You can intall 60# springs, they usually go for $10 a spring x 12.
Put a "marine gasket" in that is the appropriate thickness for how much they took off the head.
You can install studs too, if you want. At least get new head bolts.

Slap everything back together and go.

the valve springs keep your boost or drive pressures form pushing the valves open when there not supposed to open you definatly need these if you intend on increasing the rpms above stock. not sure when they become nessary due to excess boost.

Everyone says you dont need the 60# springs until 3700 rpm or more. For the $120 is cheap insurance.
I always thought I didnt need them until I took the head off and found #6 ex. pushrod to have a dogleg in it.
