Play time

Just some recent observations since I have a clutch that holds now

1st gear I can hit 14 lbs, 28 in second, 45 in third on up. Let me tell ya- never seen fp hit 12 and I've only seen 1200 egts once @ 100+ The only time the rear four break loose is high rpm launches in 2nd or third.

I've made it through all the odd smarty settings plus one even SW. The higher settings don't seem to make the truck more responsive as much as it just creates low boost smoke. Lets just say less than 10 lbs of boost + full throttle = a bad day for a tailgater. Smarty really lets you ride the line between clean power and black smoke- so you can let out a little haze and people will tend to stay back Anyways I think I'm done with 9 and am going to go back to 5. Maybe test 3 again. SW1 was really clean, but didn't improve my mileage compared to the other sw's so I might as well have fun =P

Can't wait for the 29th
Wish I could make the 22nd too =(

Ouch. Your not hitting full boost till 3rd? I'm glad I've got an auto. Full boost as soon as the trans slides into 2nd. I'm getting $700 back from the government and I was gonna put that towards the smarty but I figured that I might as well get the trans done first so I can have even more fun with the smarty. How long have you been running on #9? It took me a couple of days to get used to the difference in throttle response when I was running the full catcher. When I first installed it I noticed that it was different but I never realized how much different. I definately noticed it when I tried to set the cruise though. Ugh, I'm jealous.

Interesting? I sure notice a difference in settings. I've settled into #7 as a compromise.... #9 is just too touchy for me...when empty or roads are wet.
It is, however, true that all odd # settings end up in the same place (probably around 2200+/- rpm). Higher setting just bring in the fuel earlier.
Maybe differences are more noticable with an automatic?
Your HRVP has to make the smoke harder to control? Having to wait for 10 psi boost, before you hit it hard, is usually an automatic thing...at least it is with a bigger turbo

1st is a granny gear and only gets me to 10 mph so 14 lbs is good =P
I run out of rpms before full boost builds.

I think our turbos are simular and as you predicted I am seeing low boost smoke. My thinking is that with the higher settings there's actually too much fuel coming in too fast and it seems to bog down/lag/smoke if I punch it hard without some boost being built. Rolling into the throttle is the solution and it is still possible to drive smoke free on sw9, just more difficult. I can't tell you how much difference the hrvp made since I added the m4's the same day =\

I ran 7 for a couple weeks then went to 9 for the last couple weeks and am not seeing a huge difference so its back down to the lower sw's for me. My best mileage to date was on sw7 fwiw.

I'm with Phatboy on this one... although I haven't tried the other settings, SW#9 will lay down a cloud anytime you're running low boost. I'm also running DD3's. The truck is most responsive by rolling into it until you've got some boost and then getting all over the throttle.
