I recently purchased a '02 HO Dually with 144k miles. Never owned a truck before, but I do drive tractor trailers around at work
I want to bomb my truck- at least enough to smoke a stock Hemi =P I don't want to replace the clutch, turbo, or exhaust at this point, but definately will be looking at those down the road.
So for starters- Guages. BD has a digital guage that I could use for boost, egt, and FP that looks nice, or should I go analog? Is there a 3 guage a-piller that matches the interior and has a speaker housing that ya'll would recommend? Where to look for guages?
Now keeping the truck streetable is important to me since this will be a daily driver, even in the winter. Because of that I'd like to have the adjustability of a box, comp, tst, whatever,.... way too reasonable for me
So I'm thinking of doing mach 4's and a catcher
I might not have the adjustablilty of a box, but I learned to drive in Alaska so I should be okay with the rear end breaking loose
I think this would be enough to smoke the Hemi and the Powerjoke at work, then I can add on the other goodies as I can afford them
Great forum ya'll got here

heck, sound like uve got your self a plan
ive got a 02 3500 dualy ho 6 speed too. and i love it. ive gotten sideways with it a few times on wet pavement. but with your mach 4s and a chatcher, you could always add a box later.

I should also metion that I won't be hauling anything but a 800 lb motorcycle.
Another thing- the gearing on this truck is so low- even with the 3.55 rear that I'm thinking of putting taller tires on, even if it is counterproductive to producing power. Should I be looking at gears instead?

atleast i didnt unless i was towing/hauling, on a steep hill, or the truck was still cold.
A Catcher ECM and Mach 4s should take care of just about any stock psd or Hemi. After that, it's all about how fast you can row the 6er.
It's takes quite a bit more hp to overcome the 6er vs auto disadvantage when accelerating.

phatboy......look at our signa's.........like me an AK RAM we are very much the same in mods and we both run 12's in the 1/4 mile in a 8K pound truck.......hemi's run 13.4 in stock form and if they are quad cabs then they run 14.2 1/4......our trucks stock run like 15.1 or osmething along those lines so it will not take much.......

No way a stock 24 valve will run a 15.1sec 1/4. A stock 24 valve 6 speed would probably only run an 18sec 1/4. If its an automatic, maybe a 17sec. A stock hemi will run right around a 16.5 quarter. They wont run anywhere near a 13.4 in stock form unless its just the baddest hemi on the street. I can outrun one, and i run a 16.2 quarter. I can also outrun a stock 6.0l powerstroke, and most modded 7.3's. I would think if you can shift good enough that you could outrun either one with those mods, but your clutch might not be happy for to long

I doubt my 2001 6spd NOW would be very far into the 15's
I have a feeling that mach 4's and a catcher are gonna put you beyond the capabilities of the stock clutch/turbo/fuel system. An edge comp with mach 1.5's, scotty 2 with the hole, 4" straight pipe, and a stock turbo on my roommates truck (01 HO 6 spd) would hit 1500* pre turbo very quickly and slip the tar out of his stock clutch. A new south bend clutch and super b turbo solved those problems.

Should I be looking at banjo's right away or even a pusher pump?
Analog or digital guages? I can order analogs from ADT with the catcher or the BD digital guage looks pretty sweet.
I like analong gauges but thats just me. You can see mine in my gallery. Im very pleased with them so far, and i think they look great. They are the enhanced visibility isspro's.

I have fans...sweet!
Hemi would be lucky to drop into the 15s
SRT10 runs 13s
You probably are going to smoke the clutch with that much power
If I were you I would go only do the Catcher if you want the clutch to hold up.
Mach 4s will be all the stock turbo can handle. I personally only want to go with 1.5s.
Clutch will be needed with injectors, unless your gentle
