Pillar gauges
So a couple more payments and she's all mine! I have been slowly acquiring parts and stuff on my wish list and have decided to mount my gauges first. I have the GLO-SHIFT 3 gauge pillar mount with speaker hole and am having an issue fitting it over the stock pillar as suggested. The tweeter hole is in the way.
Has anyone mounted this style of holder directly to the pillar, or do I need to acquire a non speaker stock pillar to mount it to? I trimmed the gauge holder to fit the roof line and dash and it looks good without the factory trim underneath it.
I don't want to bugger up the factory stock pieces if I ever sell it.
Thanks, Kurt

My Autometer pillar required cutting the speaker mount, I used a Dremel, not a big deal. Be careful removing the speaker, they aren't very rugged. Otherwise do like xpetecx said and buy a non speaker cover from a wrecker.
I have set of glow shift gauges or what they really are " glow CHIT " total crap !! Why ?? Well the glass is convexed and makes the gauge so hard to read and they look like grampa glasses from the side . The diff colors are mickey mouse . Do not waste your money , ripping mine out soon

Glow chit gauges , did you try reading gauge from slight angle ? The glass is convexed so it looks like a fun house mirror when viwed from slight angle . Glow -chit gauges , did notice how the glass is not crimped on securely ? I couldnt read them in daylight as they stay lit all the time when wired per inst so I called over there again and spoke to the leed engineer and I told him they are gonna have to step it up to compete in the diesel world as they mostly sell to the tuner market .
Guy's , I know gauges as I have rigged several of my offshore race boats and the one of the best are Livorsi and Autometer . Glow chit gauges are very closes to me so I stopped over with my Livorsi gauges that I was about to install in my 32 Skater , they have the Skater logo and have true stainless rims as well as GPS MPH

I had a Glow Shift 3-in-one gauge in my truck when I got it. Analogue Boost, Digital EGT and Digital Trans Temp. all in one gauge. I didn't like the digital readouts and I also found it hard to read the analogue boost during the day and way to bright at night. Had to continuously change colors according to lighting conditions in order to read it. I also didn't like how every time I started the truck it did a bunch of beeping. If I pulled up to Timmies for a coffee and shut the truck off and ordered my coffee, the gauge wouldn't work when I started back up. Almost like it needed to cool off for a while first. As soon as I could afford it, I ripped it out and replaced it with an autometer center dash pod with Mopar Performance Boost, EGT and Trans Temp gauges. I love these new gauges. They look sweet, dim with the dash lights, are vibrant but not too bright and work really well. Glow Shift sits on the shelf. Maybe I'll put it in my Jetta...
Glow Shift Gauges work good, but they are cheap. If you don't got the dough to spend on good gauges, Glow Shift's are better than nothing. They're just cheapies so you can't expect much out of them really...
My Mopar gauges were almost $350 all said and done.

with the autometer pod, i have no issues with visibility. i keep the color on the white so dont have any daylight issues either.
dont get me wrong, these gauges are on the very bottom end of quality. will see how long it takes my 1st gen to bang em around till they dont work hahahahahaha

Thaks for the replies.

Guess I just assumed you'd purchased the Glow Shift kit complete with gauges. Sorry man. Glad to hear you've got better gauges though!
