If lag isn't really any worse than my 40, I'd happy. I suspect I'll be going to a small set of twins in the end. HX35/HTB3 setup.
Ive been told the 64 will have less suging problems with a 14 housing!

and as for the 62, I wouldnt say its very laggy! close to stock! I havent heard anyone complainign about 62 lag, i had the 12 housing though

Im running a sps66 at about 3500 ft 5spd mach 6's comp drag.
ill just say ive been in a truck with just a ps66 and this sps is way quicker. mine lites at about 10 lbs and even wastegated at 45 was swingin 55.
Its pretty warm up top, 1500+ in a pretty quick pull! Im going with water meth and a new ats manifold. thats in 5x5. the temps are a little more controlable on 3x3 not much slower spool eaither!

Hey msterync, have you had your truck on a dyno, we have pretty much the same setup, except i am an auto and your a stick and you have h20/meth kit. I am just curious if you have dynoed without the H20/meth kit. I am trying to see how my numbers relate to other with similar setups, thanks

Question

I currently run a Phat Shaft 62/12. Is it worth the $$(4-5 hundred) to send it back to I.I to have them up grade it to a Super Phat Shaft 62?

K.
I'll try. I've called and pestered II for info a few times. The 62, 64, and 66 are the compressor wheels, the ps have 70 turbines while the sps have 80. My 64/14 is a 1.01 a/r. I stand to be corrected, but I think thats right.

I have a SPS 62 with the 12 housing, with everything full forward spool was horrible there were times when I thought I was going to have to push the truck. I am sure my converter, 3.55's and 6k of alltitude do not help it at all. Towing is miserable 55-60 with egt's at 1150 to 1200 on level ground, the only way to get EGT's cooler was to go 80+. I am thinking about send the stock 35 to HTT and get a hybrid built I will gladly give up some of the empty go fast for a good tow setup.

I was told the SPS only comes in a .8 housing. I ran one for a while in my twins. It had a bit of lag compared to a 62/.7, but cooled off real well on top. Cruising egt at 70 ran 600-625. 500hp on a dyno run would just hit 1200. I took it off to try and get a bit better spool with a Dodgezilla. I miss the mid and top end now. I think I'll sell the DZ and get another SPS. The sps spools alot harder than the DZ once you hit about 15psi. It also drives the bottom charger better.

Hey Ron, the 62/.7 is on the 95 and running Was the wastegate still set for 24psi??

I'm only hitting about 28psi in Valet, and temps are still 1400+...but with the Valet off, I'm seeing ~45psi, and 1700+ temps Needs timing set back to 17*, then see what happens

I think 62mm might be a touch too big for a sub-300hp 12v Might go down to a Super B, it ran really well with little fuel!

My truck saw 1500 1 time almost 4 years ago. It has only seen 1200 a couple of times in the last few years. I don't miss running a single at all.

Yes they're over 12 valve. While we're on this subject of the Phatshaft turbos, my buddy is looking at a phat shaft 62, will this cool a 100 plate and 435's? and how would this turbo work in combination with a B2/S400 when he decides to go to twins down the road, will they cool 600HP?
