Performance Manual Tranny

Has anyone ever heard of / installed / had any experiance with a high perfomance/fast shifting manual transmission that can bolt up to a dodge w/o too many problems? I like to row the gears quickly while drag racing (duh), and i dont like the way my 6 speed struggles to keep up with me.

Thanks

- Darin

i bet you could hook a lenco up, but that would be bucks, but i would be willin to buy your 6 speed to help offset the price. but i think a auto is the way to go.

i would love to go with an auto, but i think that it would just cost too much. What all is involved in doing the switch? How much would it cost?

I think if i did that i would have to change the following: PCM, ECM?, F&R Drivelines, and Crossmember. Did i miss anything?

Who out there has done a 5 or 6 speed to auto conversions? Thoughts? I have so much time and money into this truck i dont want to go and just buy an auto!

Thanks

You could try BD's new short shift kit for the 6-speed. Haven't heard much about it, but is suppost to shorten up your shifts by like 30%, I think. Maybe someone that has one could chime in and give there opinion. Darl

It's a truck transmission.... you can shorten the throws, but you can't make it shift any faster (well you can to a point). If you want it to shift like a sports car or a race car, then you're going to have to put a sports car or race car tranny in it. You can't squeeze an apple and get orange juice.
