Does anybody have this turbo, and ever try to tow 7000lbs with it, I have a 96 cummins 5spd 4.10's, 3gks,16housing,0plate,4inch straight exhaust,16 degrees timing, afe mega cannon. thanks for your help. Soon to be 370 or a new turbo, tryin to figure which on first
Re:PDR50
I ran this turbo prior to going with twins..... My opinion is you will not be happy with this turbo and towing. The PDR-50 is pretty much a high performance turbo for max HP and the street not towing.

Re:PDR50
I'm currently running Piers HX-50 hybrid w/15mm housing. I have also tested the HX-50 w/17mm housing. Although, I live at 5700' elevation, providing you have enough fuel to push this turbo, it is very driveable. You can tow with this turbo, at my elevation however, for light loads, say under 8000lbs. The lower your elevation, the heavier the load. This turbo is mainly a performance turbo, with a larger shaft then the HX-40, larger air intake housing, and can be be run with NOS. The turbo is non-wastaged and can be run safely at the 50psi boost ranges. It spools up a little slower then the HX-40, but makes up tremendous gains on the top end to increase usable power. I choose the smaller housing to help me spool a little better at my elevation. Dee Rawson would lives at 4700' and has a 12v. loves his HX-50 w/17cm. 12v's can push more fuel then the 24v's and this turbo works great for them. I would call Piers or Al at Piers Diesel Reasearch, explain to them your upgrades, elevation, towing requirements and they will recommend which HX-50 modified turbo to purchase.

Re:PDR50
CurtisvilleCummins, I have the PDR HX-50 I have towed with it but on my trip to the Oregon coast I put my PDR HX-40 back on. In order to tow with it you'll have to have more fuel and keep RPMs up. May be with your 4:10 it will be OK.
The PDR HX-40 is a great turbo for the fueling level your at right now...
