Higher pop off pressures result in better control of fueling. You can dump a lot of fuel with a low pressure but it is imprecise and leads to inefficient fueling which leads to heat. The primary issues with the VP44 are not related to pressure but to improper use of different metals in a wear situation. I do not believe that lowering pressures would have a significant effect on pump life for that pump.

a p pump 24 valve is plenty streetable. i could be wrong but i think the horror stories you hear are from people who dont know how to work on anything. and they thinnk they can just bolt something on and it will work like magic. i just cant see how the heck the pump knows weather its on a 12v or a 24v and what diff the head would make. i think there are more 12 valves running around making power and being drivenn every day that there are vp's or cr's.

Not bad at all I done it all myself in a few days , yes mine is more built towards pulling EX HI timing bigger turbo , clutch and what not but as for a mild swap then I would like the Ppump just cause of the VP issues witch I know first hand also , as for injection,, pop is around 4000 on vp and 2800 on P pump give or take a few , but I was running 4700 psi with my p pump but took it down to 4200 , I wouldnt bother changing pop I'v talked to many injector builders NOT SELLERS and they say up to 4500 is fine for the street , for a mild swap would b a good 180 or 215 pump with a 100 plate 191 DV , some screws tweaked and start with 17 timing and work yr way up or down depending on RPMS
