p-pump to VE conversion
Im sure nobody has done this, but im just curious to know if the bolt
pattern of the P-pump is the same as the VE one ? Or for a conversion
like this you need to change the bracket that hold the pump..
I have a project on the corner of my table and i need those infos before
going further.

the ve, is that the earlier models like the 89-93's if so, then i think you have to change out the aluminum front cover. the cam is a pain to get out of there, i recommend removing the rocker boxes-pushrods and turning the engine upside down before removing cam, if you have to go this route, then just so you won't be alarmed, there is only one cam bearing in the engines. i get the ve and vp mixed up... i know the later model computer pumps on 24 valve 2nd gens. are interchangeable, the bolt pattern that holds the pump to the aluminum case is the same

Hmm in that case, i think that i will machine an adapter plate instead of tearing
the engine down to change the aluminuim case.. You were right, i was ref. to the
old 89,93 rotary pump..
Thanks for the infos..

Nah.. I don't want to send my pump on ebay, don't worry.. I have a very good knowledge on VE pump and i might be able to get custom bigger head/plunger. I want to stay mechanical for now until a finish my custom ECU. After that i want to throw an electronic pump ( not a vp44 , but a VE37 ) in it.. So i'll be able to 'tune' the fueling and timing with custom maps of my own... For me, VE is a lot more easy to play with and more flexible than the P7100..

It's probably easier to pull the cam out slightly and pull the gear off, then pull the cover and replace it with the one you need. Then put the gear back on. But for the effort, it might be easier to swap a VE powered engine right in place of the one you have now.
