p-pump how-to...

I've been asked to do some work on a buddys truck. '96 4x4 3500 5sp. He tows medium-heavy, daily. Prolly 16k GCVW. Right now throttle pressure needs to be applied to get it to start and it will only idle at about 450-500 when warm. OF valve? Simple throttle adjustment? I'll be adding boost and pyro gauges first so he can report back some baseline #'s after driving for a week. He took a ride in my old pig and now wants some more power. I've already warned him that his stock clutch will be on borrowed time at anything over stock power if he gets slap happy with the loud pedal so he's been primed on the downside to bombingThe washer.governor mod seems like a great idea--does it work well on the '96 pump

Anyway, some pointers would be nice. Links to p-pump for beginners threads would be fine if we don't want to re-hash old stuff.

Thanks!

Lucky for me, my arms are long and skinny, but looking under the hood makes me glad I've got a 1st gen, that's for sure!
